Top Toys for Xmas 2008
Early October is the time of year when predictions of which Xmas toys will be most popular at Xmas appear in the media and this year is no exception with Top Ten Xmas Toy lists for Xmas 2008 appearing on the TV and newspapers.
Hamleys is always well ahead of the game with its Xmas Toy predictions and held an event in July 2008 in which some early predictions of Top Xmas Toys for Xmas 2008 were made.
“Mr Gibbs said the main toy trend for Christmas 2008 would be “retro” toys: stylophones, Snoopy, and Emu and Spit the Dog puppets from the classic 1980s television programmes. “Every so often you can spot a fad, and this year it’s toys that parents and grandparents will remember and love and will want to pass on to their children,” he said.”
Hamleys predict that retro toys such as Rubik’s Cube will make a come-back as a stocking-filler.
Hamleys prediction of Top Toys in Xmas 2008 are:
- Dancing Teletubbies
are expected to be a huge Xmas 2008 Toy
- for girls, Hannah Montana are predicted to be popular as a result of the TV series.
- Dr Who Dalek Voice Changer Helmets were a huge hit for boys in Xmas 2006 & 2007 and are expected to be again in Xmas 2008.
- Indiana Jones is expected to return as a “retro” Xmas 2008 toy for boys.
- Rubik’s Cubes are making a retro-come back as a great stocking filler in Xmas 2008
- High School Musical Toys & Games arev expected to be popular in Xmas 2008 as a result of the popular TV show.
Computer games consoles and computer games are of course going to be super -popular in Xmas 2008. Ninendo Wii Consoles, Nintendo Wii Fit are in particular expected to be big demand but Sony PSP, Sony Playstation3 and Microsoft XBox 360 are also predicted to be popular again.
