To receive Sky Digital TV, you don’t need a Satellite Dish but you do need a Box! There are three different types of Sky Boxes available.:
- Standard Sky Box - If you want to subscribe to the basic Sky digital services, you can get a Sky Box for free which will give you access to your chosen Entertainment packs, onscreen Sky Guide and Parental Controls and interactive services.

- Sky+HD Box - the Sky+HD Box is also available for a one-off cost of £99 but you will need to subscribe to the Sky HD Pack to get access to the 26 HD Sky Channels. It has all the other benefits of the Sky+ Box but only gives 30 hours recording of HD Tv but up to 80 hours of non-HD TV.
So Sky Boxes are the kit you need to receive Sky Digital TV services and with the basic Sky digital TV service, you get a Free Sky Box but for the more advanced Sky services, the Sky Box price is currently £99 for both Sky+ Box and Sky+HD Box.
