Splash Plastic - the pre-paid Maestro Card
SPLASH PLASTIC is a payment card which you can load with money, either by easy automatic top up from a bank account, by paying your wages /salary into it, by using cash or with a credit/debit card. Your splash plastic card looks like a credit or debit card, with a card number, chip & pin and signature strip and can be used wherever Maestro® cards are accepted.
BUT SPLASH PLASTIC IS NOT A CREDIT CARD. It is not money you don’t have and will pay interest on and it is not a debit card which is linked to a bank account. Therefore with a splash plastic card, you can’t go overdrawn or borrow money– you can only spend what you have put onto it.
The splash plastic allows you to top it up by transferring your wages or money from a bank account - for FREE. This alows you to spend your money in shops, on-line and across the world when you are on holiday. You can even get an extra card for family and friends, so you can quickly and safely share your money.
There are several reasons why you may want a Splash Plastic card:
- if you don’t have a bank account, a splash card is a safe place to store money
- if you are going abroad and don’t want to carry cash, a splash card is accepted everywhere with the Maestro logo
- you are a newcomer to Britain and don’t have a credit rating
- you can share money with your friends and family who also have a card
- want a secure payment method for online shopping without the risk of potential fraud via your credit or debit card
- for use in online gaming where winnings are paid onto your splash plastic for free and you limit the amount of money you can spend
- employees who want their wages paid onto a card thereby avoiding cheque handling fees
A major use of splash plastic is for secure on-line shopping as you don’t have to worry about people accessing your bank account details - it makes a great internet shopping card.
To get a splash plastic card, you need to pay a joining fee of just £5 and an annual fee of £4.95 but there are no interest charges or charges for paying in money. So get a splash card today!
