Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX40 Digital Camera
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX40 is able to record motion pictures in high-definition (1,280 x 720 pixels at 30 fps in Motion JPEG format). The pixel mixed readout method enables bright motion-picture recording even in low-light settings. When viewing, these high-resolution 16:9 motion pictures will provide a remarkable effect on large-screen HDTV. With HD component output capability, you can enjoy watching still and motion pictures in stunning HD quality taken by your DMC-FX40 by simply connecting the camera to an HDTV via an optional component cable DMW-HDC2.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX40 features Face Recognition, a function that remembers faces. Register the person from the menu by taking his/her full-face portrait with his/her name. Once complete if the familiar face appears into your frame again the camera will display the name you specified for that person and prioritize focus and exposure so that the registered face is bright and in sharp focus.
The Venus Engine IV gives even higher-quality images through using even more advanced signal processing. This new engine also offers a number of other improvements, including more accurate detection, better correction and Intelligent ISO Control functions. This new engine supports today’s new camera and imaging technologies, and works with the large, 1/1.72-inch high-resolution CCD. It responds quickly and saves power even at full 14.7 megapixels resolution, providing an image rich in colour and depth.
