About
Useful Info was created back in 1999 which was a time when the use of the Internet in the UK was in its infancy. This was long before blogs, price comparison, social networking and all the other popular features of today’s Internet were invented.
It is a cliche that the US is always about ten years ahead of the UK in technology terms, but although the use of the Internet in the US in the late 1990s was certainly ahead of the UK, it was not by as much as ten years. Nevertheless, it was in the US that Affiliate Marketing was born and it was Affiliate Marketing that inspired the creation of Useful Info in 1999.
Nowadays, affiliate marketing is accepted by most retailers as an important part of their total online marketing strategy. One of its advantages is the ability to track sales produced by Affiliate Marketing and this enables the cost-effectiveness to be measured in a way that is impossible in most sales channels. This enables Cost Per Aquisition (CPA) contract to be given to affiliates in which the advertiser only pays when a sale or lead occurs. This is a very just system in which the advertiser only pays for results and the affiliate has a strong incentive to promote products for the advertiser and be rewarded for their efforts.
Affiliate Marketing is a system in which website owners earn money by referring their users to other websites where their user buys something. This provides a great incentive for webmasters to create a website and means retailers can recruit thousands of online marketers who promote their products.
Legend has it that Affiliate Marketing in the US began when someone approached Amazon.com, a company started by a couple of entrepreneurs, and which was a pioneer of selling products on the Internet, and asked if they could be rewarded with a commision for referring visitors to the Amazon.com website. And so affiliate marketing was born.
