Three Scottish Ski Centres to operate weekend 6 & 7 December

Superb Skiing at the Lecht & Cairngorm

Having spent Saturday 1 Nov at the Lecht and Sunday 2 Nov at Cairngorm, I can honestly say skiing conditions were superb at the weekend with deep wide cover and cold conditions which meant the snow even on the lower slopes was not slushy. This was remarkable given it is only early November.

Cairngorm to open weekend 1 & 2 Nov 2008

In addition to the Lecht, Cairngorm Mountain will also be open for skiing this weekend after overnight snowfalls added to snowfalls earlier in the week. The only uplift will be the Funicular railway but top to bottom riding is available via the Travserse, Cas/105, zig zags and home road.

Snow Reported at Cairngorm & Lecht Daylodges

The predicted blizzards have delivered some snowfall to northern Scotland with dustings reported at the daylodges of both Cairngorm and the Lecht this morning. The Ptarmigan webcam shows a light covering near the top of Cairngorm mountain.
